Laser Surgery

Modern technology results in new and improved lasers for treatment of a variety of conditions. Laser surgery is not a single procedure. There are numerous lasers which are currently available. Each laser is designed for optimal treatment of a specified group of disorders which share a common underlying cause/attribute. Current established uses for the laser include vascular lesions, pigmented lesions, tattoos, and superficially scarred or aged skin. The advantage of lasers over scalpels for surgical incisions is not clear. The role of lasers in hair removal and spider veins has not yet been defined but may prove beneficial in the near future; unproven claims have been sensationalized so far.
