Teen Mom Films Breast Augmentation
Gone are the days of hiding the fact that you have plastic surgery. A greater number of people are embracing their surgeries and are not afraid to admit they have had some work done – especially celebrities. Hollywood stars are under constant pressure to look good and stay young, and while there may be a handful of celebrities that have managed to age extremely gracefully, there are others that there’s no denying benefitted from the work of a talented plastic surgeon.
But as we move toward an era where the world becomes more comfortable with plastic surgery procedures, perhaps some of Hollywood’s newcomers are moving a little too quickly for the trend’s sake. Namely Teen Mom’s Farrah Abraham.
Abraham, 22, has posted a video inviting fans into her fourth plastic surgery operation and second breast augmentation. In the short clip, the Teen Mom explains she currently has 450cc saline breast implants (the equivalent of a size C cup) and after weighing her options – literally, she weighs both implants in her hands in the video – she decides that a 650cc silicone implant (the equivalent of a size D cup) is more suited to her “adult womanhood.”
Abraham is not the first woman to undergo repeated breast augmentation procedures. For many women, their first breast enhancement surgery is a modest one. Some women prefer to add just one or two cup sizes to their breasts or may choose to create better symmetry during their first surgery. Some also prefer to allow the skin to adjust to the larger breast shape before jumping into getting a much larger cup size from the start. This is a popular method for women who have a smaller frame or who have little skin elasticity.
Many patients also undergo multiple breast augmentation surgeries because they choose to go from saline implants to silicone implants because of their aesthetic superiority. Since Abraham was under the age of 22 when she had her first breast augmentation surgery (she had the surgery in 2011), she was only able to get saline implants. Saline breast implants can be used in women as young as 18, whereas silicone is only approved in the U.S. for women 22 years of age and older. Some women choose to wait until they are old enough for silicone implants while others opt for saline and prefer the results, staying with their original implants.
The MTV reality star also had her first plastic surgery experience taped, which was televised during an episode of Teen Mom. The video takes us through Abraham’s journey in getting a nose job and chin implant when she was 21.
A few hours and $16,000 later, Abraham emerged from her surgery with a straighter nose and more pronounced chin. Needless to say, the starlet was beyond thrilled with the results of the procedure.
“I think I look amazing,” gushes Abraham. “I couldn’t have asked for a better result.”
